PRESS RELEASE : SAINT AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA (April 30, 2014), Recognizing the need to increase the diversity of models including models with disabilities, Models of Diversity (MoD), a London, England based non-profit, today announced it has joined forces with Global Disability Inclusion, LLC as its exclusive U.S. partner to increase the availability of models with disabilities in the United States.

“The goal of Models of Diversity is to help global brands represent the demographics of the people buying their products. Our partnership with Global Disability Inclusion, LLC will help us expand to new markets and continue to foster greater diversity.” said Angel Sinclair, Executive Director, Models of Models of Diversity.

MoD has been making waves in Europe since 2010, demonstrating to the world beauty comes in all shapes, colors, sizes and abilities. Globally there are 650 Million people with disabilities. In the United States there are 56 million people with disabilities, and according to the U.S. Department of Labor the discretionary spending power of those with disabilities in the U.S. is over $175 billion. The size of the disability market is four times larger then the sought after “tween” (8-14) market. Yet, in 2012 only 3% of Fortune 500 companies had any marketing that included people with disabilities.

“At Global Disability Inclusion, we help companies identify and leverage opportunities in their workforce, workplace and marketplace to be more inclusive of people with disabilities. We are thrilled to partner with Models of Diversity, we will be able to provide an additional resource to companies looking to improve their reach in the disability market,” stated Meg O’Connell, Managing Partner, Global Disability Inclusion.
