Petite Denim Designer Allison Izu Fashion Trends

Allison Izu is for  petite women 5’6″ and under this is great news for you!  No more hemming, this petite premium denim line fits women size 00 to 14 (inseam 27″ to 31″). Every garment is specifically designed for the petite woman’s  frame.   The Allison Izu fit pattern has the correct waist-hip-knee-ankle proportions which are really important to elongate and flatter the shorter woman’s frame.   Every detail is re-designed, from smaller back pockets and back yokes so it  accentuates and lift the buttocks, and higher knee breaks to make you look taller, with proportionate flares for the petite woman! For Spring petite fashion trousers are in for this season, with a wider looser leg. For petites: try not to go too wide, it can shorten your legs and make you look wider and shorter (who wants that?) Go for something that skims the thigh area and flares out at the knee.

Floral prints are BIG this season, and why not? Who wouldn’t want a little color pop in springtime? And the old rules are out which says petites can only wear small prints, go big. It will not overpower our smaller women’s frames, if the cut of the top is right. Go for something a little more close fitting. Or pair a wider top with skinnies to balance out your frame.

Try the Allison Izu Hotel St straight skinnies with a floral top.

Another great fun trend is Geometric prints, which can be a little too much for a petite woman if used in the wrong way. Be aware of the lines the print is drawing on your body. Chevrons or v-shapes are perfect to give the illusion of a slimmer and longer frame. For this trend, I would keep to smaller prints to be safe.

Athletic and Sports details are also big this season. Its easy when you pick pieces with a sport theme, don’t wear your gym clothes out. Choose casual styles that have drawstring details, or laces. A lot of styles are also showing chevon details or casual snaps.

Try Allison izu’s Sunset sweat pant jean for a fun casual look of a sweat pant with the ease and style of chambray jeans.

1920’s are also a big look for spring, drop waists, sequins, long & loose skirts, etc. This can be a difficult trend for petites, as it can shorten our frame. If you do a drop waist dress, look for one that has a shorter hem to balance out the longer top half. Or try the trend in other ways, lace tops, a great sequin tank or vintage finds like layered peals or a great 1920’s pearlized hair clip  accessories.

  1. Hello Allison Izu,

I am a young middle – aged woman in my 50’s and I need a new wardrobe in denim wear for petite women like myself. I get so frustrated when I go window shopping and admiring the fashioins like dresses, trousers and denim wear that are made to fit tall women as they are getting taller, but I remain petite and would be interested to know if you do a catologue based on a varierty of fashions that I have mentioned for small women. Your help would be greatfully received. Thank you.

    Regards,

    Susan Scarlett.
