Global 30 Day Yoga Challenge September Launch
It’s September, and you know what that means? Time for National Yoga Month, a national observance and awareness campaign every September, and the official launch of the Global 30 Day Yoga Challenge (#30DYC). We want to encourage you to make a lifestyle change and Yoga is great to do for yourself every month!
This year, our Global 30 Day Yoga Challenge has a new twist, inspired by the ALS #icebucketchallenge. Our intention is to spread yoga around the world. This challenge will be hosted on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.
You will also find Yoga Month related posts and articles on our media partner platforms including Yoga.com, Fitfusion.com, Livestrong.com, and Yogamonth.com throughout the month of September.
The only rules are to have at least one other person in the video, do a yoga pose together, then challenge at least three other people to do the same pose or a more advanced or interesting version. Videos can include two people, small groups, families, or large groups such as classes, events, festivals, or retreats.
For Instagram, 15 seconds is the max you can post. For the other platforms, feel free to get more creative and create longer videos if you wish. Then post your video to social media and challenge at least three friends to do the same.
If you are challenged and don’t submit your video within 24 hours, you are required to make a donation to Yoga Health Foundation, a great organization that raises money to teach yoga in schools during recess. You are encouraged to donate whether you create the video or not. Tag your video with #YogaRecess and #SpreadYoga for a chance to win cool prizes.
We have five pair of Nike Studio Wraps, one Starboard Travel SUP Yoga Board, one $500 Scholarship to a Pranashama Yoga Teacher Training or Retreat, five memberships to 30DYC.com, five memberships to Yoga.com, $500 tuition credit at META-Health University, and five memberships to Fitfusion.com. You will also need to tag the prize you wish to win.
Meet some of our partners: Laura Sykora, Dashama, Livestrong, Yoga.com, and FitFusion. Join us on a path toward greater health, happiness, and well-being. Every year since 2009, Dashama has hosted the longest-running social media driven online Global 30 Day Yoga Challenge, and it has repeatedly gone viral on YouTube. The goal this year is to not only get people doing yoga worldwide, but also to raise money for Yoga Health Foundation. Let’s #SpreadYoga!
