Recently, I booked an affordable trip to Miami, Florida and visited family and friends for Thanksgiving. I took a car to Key West, which was economical, and stayed two nights in paradise! I was on the beach, walked around town at night and enjoyed that alone time to the fullest. I did the things I wanted to do. I catered to myself and recharged my mind, body and soul.

If you are going to Arizona, plenty of desert landscape to enjoy. New York has wonderful small towns and foliage in the fall, Florida, Texas, and if you have someone in Washington state, do yourself a favor and visit Seattle (I may be biased but I have zero complaints from visitors so far).

Other small getaways include spas, hiking, or just book a room in a different part of the state. As long as you put yourself in a place where you will feel relaxed, centered and focused on the activity at hand.

Some people like yoga retreats and other spiritual retreats, and others enroll in classes for something they’ve always wanted to learn. Expand your mind while giving it a break from the monotonous date related thinking you’ve been doing for the past year.
