Mumbai Fashion Designer Archana Kochhar and PETITE Runway Models

By on February 9, 2010

There is exciting news on the petite fashion scene, but it seems you need to head out to Mumbai’s fashion circuit if you want to see true petite models rockin’ the runways! Couture fashion designer Archana Kochhar is blazing new trails by launching her collections on the bodies of beautiful petite models and actresses!

Apparently, Kochhar does not believe her clothing looks better when draped on a taller woman’s frame. This designer is proving our argument that clothing which is scaled correctly does not need an amazon model to create positive shock value. Kochhar’s designs and featuring of petite models have impacted fashion connoiseurs around the globe.

FASHION DESIGNER AND PETITE RUNWAY MODELS

Archana Kochhar sizzles on 5’1” Minnisha Lamba, a native born and raised New Delhian. Minnisha always dreamed of being a model and she was discovered by Cadbury, which launched her modeling carreer. Recently, petite model Minissha walked the runway in Lakme fashion week for Kochhar’s collection titled “Innocence,” wearing a gown resembling a bouquet of flowers.

At this point Lamba has transitioned to acting, as well as modeling. She is under contract with Bollywood Director Shoojit Sircar to star in his next film. This gorgeous petite model clearly understands the importance of education over a modeling or entertainment career. She has now completed her education, graduating from University of Delhi in 2004 with a degree in English (with Honors), while modeling on the side.

PETITE FASHION MODEL RAO

Archana Kochhar has been showcasing phenomenal petite models such as 5’0” Amrita Rao, a famous model and Bollywood actress. Rao’s first modeling assignment was for Fairever Fairness cream and within months she had over thirty-five campaigns with leading brand companies.  After having a great run in solely a modeling career, she made her screen debut in the film “Ab Ke Baras” in 2002, but took off into the spotlight with “Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar.” “Mein Hoon Na,” “Deewar” and “Masti” are some of her other films. She can be spotted on the runway and red carpet events wearing Archana Kochhar.

AMERICAN FASHION DESIGNERS BEHIND THE CURVE

It is frustrating that American fashion designers are not leading the petite womens fashion movement. Haven’t they heard that 70% of all women are 5’5” and under? For now we are thrilled to see a top-notched revolutionary designer making headlines with petite models in her collection on the runway.

Many have said that it would never happen, but all naysayers can guess again! Petite women are taking this fashion war all the way, and yes, it’s personal! We’re not gonna take it anymore, this girl is not shining anyone’s shoes!

Love this movement for the petite women! we need to be part of the fashion industry too. Why have they deleted us from the mainstream of fashion? We are petite and as beautiful. This discrimination in the fashion industry mainstream will change. All petites must get together and create an movement! We are women, just happen to be a smaller package of beauty!
